First electric JCB telehandler in Ireland
Irish contractor John Sisk & Son has taken delivery of the first six metre lift height/2,500kg capacity JCB 525-60E electric telehandler to arrive in Ireland. The move is a small part of Sisk’s plans to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030.
JCB’s 525-60E employs two electric motors in place of a diesel engine, one powering the transmission/driveline while the other powers the hydraulic pumps for lifting operations, both fed from by a 96 volt lithium-ion battery pack. The all-new hydraulic system features ‘smart regeneration’ with power recovered during boom lowering and retraction which is fed back into the battery.
